Lymington 148 all out
South Wilts won the toss and elected to bat on an overcast day at Bemerton Heath. The Lymington opening bowlers were Matt Metcalfe (10 overs 4 for 48) and Australian Academy player Ben Ashkenazi (10 overs 1 for 57) but were unable to make a breakthrough However the introduction of Ed Freeman (5 overs 1 for 35) produceddividends dismissing prolific Tom Morton (48) caught behind by Ed Ellis. Simon Beetham (10 overs 0 for 46) and Dominic Hand (10 overs 1 for 39) bowled tightly and Ryan Scott (5 overs 1 for 31) picked up the second wicket with the score on 130. The return of the opening bowlers with Matt Metcalfe picking up 4 wickets reduced South Wilts to 263 for 9 after 50 overs.
In reply Lymington opening batsmen Ben Rogers (2) and Damien Edwards (6) were soon dismissed and Ryan Scott (15) and Dominic Hand (17) made a mini recovery before they were both out. Simon Beetham (12) and Ed Ellis (12) endeavoured to make a fightback but both fell and at 79 for 6 Lymington were in trouble. Ben Ashkenazi (2) was bowled and although Matt Metcalfe (35) and Chris Jennings (30) put on 52 together before the latter was out. Former colt Hugo Chandler (5) making his 1st XI debut was caught and Ed Freeman (0 not out) was left stranded with Lymington all out in the 41st over.
