Lymo U15s ease to season opener against New Milton
Lymington batted first on a sunny morning in New Milton.
The New Milton opener bowlers Golding (2-13) and Dyer-Smith (2-27) quickly reduced Lymington to 19-3 in the 3rd over but Cam Robertson 42 (retired) and Thomas Sykes 33 steadied the ship with some impressive shots in an 82 run stand, this was followed by a quick fire 18 that included 2 enormous sixes by Ethan Perry-West and 18 not out for Hugo Smith, Lymington amassed an impressive 145-6 in their allotted 18 overs.
In reply Lymington bowled tightly throughout and New Milton never got going in their run chase, Josh Royan 2 overs for 4 runs led the way, wickets fell regularly with George Gower (1-8), Jude Tollerfield (1-9), Will Jowett (2-3) the wicket takers, Jason Walbank and Jensen Lightfoot bowled a couple of tight overs without reward
Lymington fielded tenaciously with Jude Tollerfield taking a steepling catch to remove the threatening Campbell Golding, New Milton ended their innings on 69-5 in their 18 overs.
A great performance played a group of lads really enjoying their cricket.
