Lymington v Havant T20 Cup Semi-Final

DSC02005

Lymington 147 for 8
Havant 151 for 2 in 18.5 overs

Lymington lost by 8 wickets

With the weather being very hot and humid and the Sports Ground looking very green the Lymington T20/20 captain Ed Ellis won the toss and elected to bat.

Ben Rogers (33) and Ryan Scott (7) were soon parted with the latter being bowled which brought in Darren Cowley (16) who was caught and bowled. Richie Lock (32) took the score to 82 for 3 after 11.5 overs which gave Lymington a solid start. With Ed Ellis (29) batting well a good score looked good but tight bowling by Havant restricted Dominic Hand (8) who was run out and Felix Ambrose (7) including a huge 6 and Simon Beetham (2) and Cameron Grierson (0 not out) to 147 for 8 off the 20 overs.

In reply Havant started well with Lymington opening bowlers Ed Freeman (1 over 0 for 15) and Richie Lock (0 for 40) suffering an onslaught and the same with Simon Beetham (3.1 overs 1 for 27) and Felix Ambrose (2 overs 0 for 23). Darren Cowley (4 overs 0 for 19) and Dominic Hand (4 overs 1 for 27) slowed things down but Havant cruised into the BGSPCL T20/20 final in the 19th over with Stuart Ransley (81 not out) and veteran Richard Hindley (28 not out) .

The Final is at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday 4th September
