STERLING RISES AS LYMINGTON FACE EXIT!
Lymington III 85 all out
Pylewell Park 87-3
Lymington 3rd XI hosted Pylewell Park 1st XI at Milford-on-Sea CC in their Hants County Division 4 West match. Pylewell Park, skipper Tom Sterling, won the toss and asked Lymington to bat on a damp wicket with overcast conditions. Openers Mark Gannaway and Mark Jackson started well taking the score to 26 against accurate bowling from H Green (1-15) and M Truell (2-28). Gannaway was then dismissed for 9, and the fragility of the Lymington batting was again exposed for the second match running. W Royan (3-19) and S Tranter (4-10) ripped through the home team to bowl Lymington out for 85, of which 19 were extras and Jackson remained stranded on 21 not out. After a delicious tea provide by Mr and Mrs Chandler, Lymington responded with some tight opening bowling from Trevor Phillips and Alex Treagus, but defending such a low score was always going to be difficult. Tom Sterling scored a positive 43 to lead his team to a comprehensive 7 wicket win inside 22 overs, with Asa Drodge taking (2-22). Lymington face a quick exit from Hants County Division 4 West, unless more application and collective responsibility is shown by the players particularly when batting in the matches to come.
