Under 13s complete the treble!
Lymington’s Under 13 side ended the season in fine style with a nine wicket win over Winterslow in their rain-delayed New Forest Cup Final at Langley Manor. The success made it a hat-trick of trophies for Toby Sykes’ team who had previously won the New Forest South division and the North v South play-off final.
Lymington were without a couple of regulars in Captain Thomas Sykes and Sam Stockton. Winterslow won the toss and elected to bat and roared off to 30 for the loss of one wicket off only 6 overs but the innings ground to halt from there, outstanding bowling from Captain of the day Hugo Smith 2 for 5 from 4 overs and Jude Tollerfield 3 for 3 from 2 overs stood out, with other wickets from Josh Royan 1-10 and Will Usher 1-1.
Cam Hawkins stepping in as wicket keeper for the day took one excellent catch and a stumping in an overall excellent fielding display. Winterslow eventually reached 53 for 7 from their allotted 18 overs.
In reply Lymington lost James Williams for 0 but Josh Ryan 18 not out and Hugo Smith 28 not out including a massive six over the pavilion guided Lymington home comfortably in only 9 overs.
The winning team: Hugo Smith, Josh Royan, James Williams, Jude Tollerfield, Harvey Jeffries, Sam Usher, Oscar Marshall, Ben Donnison and Ethan Perry-West, Will Usher and Cam Hawkins.
